Deep Massage - The Lauterstein Method
Combining Structure and Energy in Bodywork

Description
This approach to bodywork has its roots in the traditions of Zero Balancing, Rolfing and Cranio-Sacral Therapy, as well as a few of my own in body psychotherapy and postural integration. Using particular techniques and little to no oils allows the deeper soft tissues of the body, all the way down to the bones and joints, to be 'moved'. The touch is more 'definite' and deeper reaching. The connection between therapist and client becomes more profound. "Deep Massage" is about high quality of connection, not about quantity of pressure. The techniques evolved as combinations of soft tissue and skeletal work that have been studied and then refined for over 30 years. A Deep Massage treatment addresses the entire body. At the heart of this method is the ability to touch energy as well as structure, simultaneously and consciously, with soft tissue fulcrums. Many things can happen in this space, be it physical, energetic or emotional shifts or releases, and they are all welcomed.
